"Go Die", but I don’t really mean it. " I wanna die", but I really wanna live.
I came across the movie 'He Won't Kill, She Won't Die' the same way I bumped into countless other movies - by chance. Thanks to a Pinterest pin. The movie is unusual. It tells the story of three different pairs of people. The storytelling of this movie is something. Despite two out of these three pairs having a somewhat boring story, I still couldn’t skip their parts thanks to the storytelling of this movie. And then there is this one pair. The ones you see on the poster of the movie. The ones the movie is named after. I, like many other reviewers, wished that the whole story was about them. Their relationship was something memorable to me. They were quirky, and their story came with a heartbreaking twist. I also wished they would elaborate a bit more on the motivation behind her wanting to die, though it was implied that she might've been bullied and probably not an idea home life. The movie is very much of a slice of life and character driven. It might not be everyone's cup of tea. However, it left an impact on me almost similar to that left by Waiting for Rain, my favourite movie. Maybe it's the tone. There are little to no monologue in the movie. Just dialogues. No one explains the stories and motivations of the characters to you other than the characters themselves. There is no dramatic background music either. It slow and sometimes sudden, like life itself. It’s not everyone's cup of tea. The story itself might not be memorable, but the storytelling definitely is.
