Summer Ghost
Three strangers. Connected by one pursuit - their desire to meet the 'Summer Ghost'. The movie opens with the three of them meeting a year after their meeting with Summer Ghost, lighting fireworks and reminiscing about past. Each of the three teenagers had their own reasons to meet the ghost, each struggling with their own life. Ayane, the ghost, who was rumoured to have taken her own life, also had a story to tell. It was a short, beautiful story packed with emotions. Loundraw's art is always my favourite, seeing their art in an animation movie was even better. The movie left an imprint in my heart, maybe it is because it’s exactly the type that I love. The ending is my favourite part as it is the most emotional part, with a surprise. I recommend it if you are searching for a short slice-of-life mixed with sprinkle of fantasy and in the mood of getting emotional, sad even.
In case you aren’t aware, this movie also has a light novel adaptation and a manga adaptation. I don't recommend the manga, but I highly recommend the light novel. It gives more insight on the characters, some changes are also made.
